Insulation

Adding insulation can make a damp attic worse if it blocks the soffit vents. Airflow is a balanced path, not a single vent on the ridge.

The useful upgrade is a dry, air-sealed ceiling with even coverage. Depth alone does not fix a leaky hatch or a wet deck.
